Life as a Progress consultant by Dominic Paramore

After spending 15 years working for global multinational organisations directly, consulting appealed to me as an attractive alternative option for the future as well as an opportunity to further my career growth.

Working at different organisations provides you with a rich understanding of how best practices and regulations are interpreted in a diverse manner by each organisation and possibilities for removing waste in various processes become very apparent. It also provides insight into interesting methods of implementation for a variety of systems and challenges the organisation to improve their systems and let go of those long held beliefs that have never been challenged / stress tested.

Working at Progress more specifically brings with it the wealth of knowledge within the organisation and, with a carefully cultivated and very accessible platform, this knowledge can be accessed and exploited to the customer’s advantage and is a great way to sharpen up your own knowledge base. At Progress it is also about more than merely providing consulting services – it is about delivering projects to the client making sure they receive all the support that they require and not focusing purely on the billable hours – going out of your way to ensuring they meet their business objectives. As someone who has been on the client side hosting many consultants, this is a very refreshing approach and provides a great return on investment.

All told, it is an extremely challenging and rewarding journey to go on for anyone looking for growth and a great environment to work in. Work life balance is valued and the management team are always there to support with any type of issue you may encounter.
