Aljan has been working as a Consultant at Progress since March 2025. After obtaining his Master’s degree in Biotechnology at Wageningen University and Research in 2016, he started his career in life sciences at Applikon biotechnology as a process engineer. At this company, he was involved in the engineering and commissioning of bioreactor systems. He has also been working for several years at Sanquin Plasma Products (now Prothya Biosolutions B.V.) as a continuous improvement engineer and senior project engineer, where he was involved in commissioning and qualification of equipment and process optimization and validation.
