Life as a Progress consultant by Petra Reus - van Echtelt
For me, working as a consultant means stepping in at exactly the right moment for an organization. I provide temporary support, bring focus, and help achieve concrete results. Once the objective is met, I hand everything over so the organization can move forward independently. That makes the work very tangible and rewarding for me—you can clearly see the impact you’ve made.
What I also truly value is the variety. Every assignment brings a new environment, new people, and a new challenge. No project is the same; each organization has its own dynamics, especially within GMP-driven environments where processes are complex and standards are high.
It is precisely this combination of technology, regulations, and day-to-day practice that requires flexibility. It keeps me sharp and ensures that I continuously assess what is needed to achieve meaningful progress.
In my work, I draw on my experience in the life sciences to create value quickly. I not only bring knowledge but ensure it is immediately applicable in practice. By actively collaborating and sharing insights, I help strengthen teams so that results are not only achieved but sustained over time.
Collaboration is always central to this approach. Results are never achieved alone. I strongly believe in taking practical steps and pursuing continuous improvement. By working closely together and communicating openly, trust is built and teams can move forward with confidence.
Being results-driven and motivated to leave behind practical, lasting solutions forms the foundation of my work. Within the life sciences, this has added meaning: contributing to organizations that directly impact health and well-being gives every assignment a strong sense of purpose.
