Life as a Progress consultant by
Thilo Buck

My journey as a consultant at Progress – Experts in Life Sciences has been nothing short of transformative. It has offered me a front-row seat to some of the most dynamic developments in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries while allowing me to grow both professionally and personally.

When I joined Progress, I was drawn by its mission to provide tailored solutions and its commitment to fostering the growth of its people and being a family. Over time, I have come to deeply appreciate the culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning that defines this company.

One of the most exciting aspects of consulting is experiencing how different organizations tackle challenges. Each project provides unique insights and opportunities to make meaningful contributions. For instance, supporting the development of a radiopharmaceutical manufacturing facility allowed me to lead GMP equipment qualification efforts, implement risk management strategies, and collaborate with a diverse team to help the facility achieve its ambitious goals. Similarly, working with a clinical-stage vaccine manufacturer enabled me to apply lean principles, streamline processes, and foster continuous improvement, directly contributing to the organization’s growth and readiness for future challenges.

Hosting a session at the Dutch Life Sciences Conference 2024 broadened my perspective by engaging with experts on the intersection of investment, market trends, and clinical implementation. Attending events like the RSNN Regulatory Science Network Netherlands on ATMPs, the DARQA ATMP meeting, the PDA ATMP conference, and contributing to ISPE Netherlands profoundly shaped my understanding of how continuous improvement drives transformative change in the pharmaceutical industry. These experiences culminated in my role as Vice Chair of the Pharma 4.0 group at ISPE Netherlands.

Looking ahead, I am excited to continue this journey at the Dutch ATMP Summit 2025, focusing on Automation in ATMP Manufacturing. Scheduled for March 12, 2025, at Corpus Leiden, this event will bring together innovators and decision-makers to discuss how automation can transform ATMP production. If you are passionate about advancing the field, I encourage you to join us.

At the core of Progress is its supportive and collaborative culture. From day one, senior colleagues have mentored me, encouraging me to push my boundaries. The company’s emphasis on lifelong learning—whether through conferences (ISPE, DARQA, PDA, DLS, RSNN, VCCN), certifications (lean, Prince2), or staying abreast of regulatory changes—has been pivotal to my development.

Reflecting on my journey, I feel immense gratitude for the meaningful projects, the opportunity to lead and learn, and the camaraderie I’ve found at Progress. It’s more than a job—it’s a platform to make a lasting impact in the life sciences while continuously growing as a consultant. For those driven by innovation and collaboration, and who want to shape the future of healthcare, Progress offers an unparalleled opportunity to thrive.
