Your challenges

As a Director Sales at Progress, you will play a crucial role in driving our commercial growth through acquisition & business development and ensuring we meet the needs of our clients in the Life Sciences sector, with focus on ATMP, Biotech, Pharma and hospital pharmacies. You will have a diverse and strategic role, including:

  • Co developing, implementing, and monitoring the Progress sales and acquisition strategy and ambition, translating it into concrete actions, work processes, and procedures.
  • Building and nurturing strong relationships with potential clients, serving as the first point of contact and ensuring their needs are met.
  • Proactively identifying and pursuing new market opportunities to generate leads and convert them into concrete opportunities.
  • Translating customer requests into concrete, tailored quotations and signed contracts.
  • Setting up and maintaining the CRM system to optimize client management and track acquisition efforts.
  • Representing Progress at networking events, seminars, and industry gatherings to expand our network and strengthen our market position.
  • Collaborating closely with the Director Operations on resource planning, troubleshooting, and monitoring client satisfaction.

Your profile

At Progress, your personality and values matter as much as your skills. We are looking for someone who embodies our values:  integrity, flexibility, customer focus, and expertise.

  • Experience: At least 5 years of experience in a similar sales and acquisition position within the Life Sciences industry, with a strong and relevant network. A strong background in one or more of our expertise area’s engineering, CQV, Quality, CMC/MSAT or (bio-)pharmaceutical operations
  • Expertise: Proven ability to act at both strategic and operational levels, with a demonstrated focus on acquisition, business development and client relationship management.
  • Education: Academic degree (WO) or higher professional education (HBO) with academic-level thinking.
  • Skills:
    • Commercial Mindset: A natural customer- and solution-oriented approach to work.
    • Communication Skills: Fluent in Dutch and English, both written and spoken, with experience in sales conversation techniques.
    • Client-Centric: Skilled in communicating at executive and management levels, translating client needs into concrete, tailored proposals.
    • Proactive and Organized: Capable of managing multiple leads simultaneously, setting priorities, and meeting deadlines.
    • Team Player: Collaborative, with a strong focus on building and maintaining relationships both internally and externally.
